If you’re like me, statistics is not the most exciting way to explore a subject. And yet here, in three great TED talks from 2006, 2007 and 2009, Hans Rolsing challenge conceptions on Poverty and the Developing world, uses data patterns to untangle the complex risk factors of HIV and creates a visual picture of what is – and can be.
Be warned: You may never look at statistics, HIV and the so-called ‘developing world’ in the same way again.

P.S. You may also enjoy his initiative Gap Minder -”unveiling the beauty of statistics for a fact based world view”. And if you are wondering whether TED talks/speakers ideas have impact? Since May 2007 the UN have made their statistics freely available.
